HI am planning to self build, if anyone has built using insulated concrete formwork, is there anyone in tipperary who puts it together?

Hi ghe
just registered, we have planning in at the moment for tipp council and are hoping to start pricing next week. we have also been looking at this option, Liam Cleere in Tipp is using this method so hoping to get price off him

There were several queries/problems over on boards.ie in the Planning forum dealing with this kind of construction - going back a couple of months now.

Tracing leaks holding up completions IIRC, possibly linked to the sill detail - I don't know if this was ever resolved.

ONQ.

This form of construction is quite common in Europe. It is becoming more common in Ireland & the UK.

Look at the Companies Irish Aggregiate Board Certificate. Do your homework. Most suppliers of the formwork will have a lis of approved installers / erectors.

Check previous Clients / jobs in your area and speck to the people. Ask about the quality of the Supplier and their Installers etc.

Discuss the construction details of this method with your Designer / Certifier (Architect, Arch. Technician, Engineer) Make sure they are fully familiar with the construction.

In simple terms its like building in Lego of couse in reality the Devil is in the Detail.

Maybe you could post photos at different stages of the build?
