I live in Co Meath. I am renovating an old cottage which has a 17x26 ft (approx 7.9 x 5.18 meters?) flat roof with little if any existing insulation. I am thinking of replacing the roof externally with a warmer roof. I don't want to do it from the inside due to the disruption it will cause and also because I have a tongue n'groove ceiling in two rooms I do not want ripped out. I would like to hear from anyone who has had their flat roofs insulated (externally). What kind of roof insulation did you use? How many years have you had it? Are happy with it? How much did it cost (size of roof will help me determine a ballpark figure of what I should be paying for mine) and who did you use.? I would also welcome any expert advice on the good, the bad and the ugly surprises I should be aware of (if there are any) and what I should be looking for in terms of materials and expertise and anything else you'd like to throw in for good measure
