fire insurance

As I'm nearing the end of new build the mortgage provider wants fire insurance in place before any more payments. The builder/contractor has insurance and some companies I've tried won't provide fire cover while the house is being built and unoccupied. Does anyone know of companies doing temporary cover for a month or so?

what companies did you approach? Hib, FBD, E Star & Allianz all provide fire cover for houses in the course of construction. You should have it as if the place was burned, all you have to show for teh borrowed money, would be a pile of ashes.

I think most companies have a problem with giving cover once construction has already started.
