Electric Shower Problem

I'm having issues with a year old Triton T90 shower. I'm not sure if the issue is the shower itself or the pullchord to switch it on.

I have to pull the chord a couple of times to get the light on it to come on, once this happens when I switch my shower on the light on the pull chord switch will turn back off.

Does this sound like a problem with the pullchord switch unit or the shower itself, if it's the switch I presume these are easy enough to replace?

Your Pullcord is knackered!.
Although you can get the little red light to come on when you turn on the shower the current through the switch goes to 40 amps (approx) and the resistance across the pullcord switch increases and stops the flow of electricity.

When you fit the new one MAKE SURE that all the screws are really tight
