I have a DoC for a +65 relative. When completing my Form 11,
section 504(b) asks for the 'gross amount'.

Do I complete the amount I actually pay to the relative (which would be net of tax), or the amount I earned gross of tax applied, i.e. what I actually pay, plus the 41% PAYE, or some other calculation ?

As example, net yearly payment to relative €1,000
Gross payment €1,410 (@-41% = €1,000)
or some other calculation ?
I had other reliefs in 2010 so I'm not sure you can assume I paid a flat 41% on everything earned.

????

The gross amount is the amount you inserted day one on the deed to pay, the net amount and the amount you actually pay is that figure less the standard rate of tax, thats my best explanation!

For example I have one for 2,500 gross, net amount 2,000 after deduction of standard rate of 20% tax. Last years figures, not sure what this years standard rate is.

Your own tax relief on it will be calculated on the 41% less the standard rate.
