Thank you all for your contribution to the review of the posting guidelines. The moderators have agreed on the following overall posting policy for Askaboutmoney

The core purpose of Askaboutmoney is to provide useful information . Anyone is free to ask and answer questions about factual matters.

Most of the regular users of the site welcome the fact that they do not have to wade through chat and frivolity to find useful information, so if you post this sort of material in the main forums, it will probably be deleted.

While it is not part of our core purpose, we do allow Frequent Posters who have at least 50 posts to share jokes and chat and debate issues in Letting off Steam and Shooting the Breeze
