I have an old credit card debt dating back to 2007, its an unsecured debt, I have no way of paying it, and can not see myself ever being in a position to do so.
I have no assets, no property, my take home pay is about 15k a year.
I have got demands for it, including Sheriff calling, but when I explain I have nothing to pay with, or nothing to seize they go away for a year or so, yes it is incurring interest.
Should I just brazen it out and hope it will be written off ?
The credit card has not been used since 2007..anyone in similar position..??
 
Hoping for things (like debt, or sheriff visits) to disappear is a rather, well, passive strategy methinks.

Ever thought about approaching the CC company and tell them there isn't any way to pay it back and things cleaned up?
 
Any idea how much the balance owed in 2007 was and what their looking for now ??
 
A Debt Relief Notice, obtainable through MABS, may put this to bed for good as OP has no assets, and insufficient income to settle the debt.
