Hi guys - I owe the tax man some money as a result of clawback stamp duty on an investment property. I am trying to get a rough idea of how much it will be. I owe E5400 + interest and penalties. I have been told by a guy in the revenue that interest will be charged at a daily rate of 0.0273%. The interest begins on the date that I 1st took rent in the property. The number of days interest is approx 1500. Can anyone tell me what the interest charges would amount to. Also does anyone know how penalties are calculated. I must point that I am coming forward myself and not as a result of an audit. Thanks in advance for any answers given. If anyone has any other advice on my situation it would be greatly appreciated.
