CCTV in the workplace

If an employer has CCTV installed in a workplace where employees interact with customers, is there an obligation to:

1/ display a sign indicating CCTV

2/ formally notify the employees of the CCTV

The CCTV is for routine security purposes, not for some covert surveillance of employees re fraud/timekeeping.
