Carer's Allowance and setting up a small business

I know that when on Carer's Allowance it is permitted to work 15 hours a week.

However, I am just wondering if it is possible to set up a small business from home. The hours worked wouldn't even amount to 15 a week. Before my partner's health and mobility became worse I was in college doing something I really loved and I could do from home. I am hoping to renovate an out building to set up an office/studio.

Even though I am looking after my partner and our child, is it possible for me to set up a small business, and register myself and set up a website etc.

If its in the home, there's no restriction on the hours worked, either in employment or self employment, as long as it doesn't interfere with your role as a carer. The first 665 Euro of income is disregarded from the means test.
