hi,just found out my brother's car is about to be repossessed, he owes 13k with arrears of 1.3k and as far as I know has payments of just over 2 years.
if he pays the arrears (finance company saying they wont accept this) and the balance of payments to the half way mark(guessing 2.5 years) can he hand back the car?MABS said if he hands back now unlikely to be chased but would prefer to hear definitive on that!
also, I was luckty enough to win a new car so have a car which I was hoping to sell, I am willing to give this to him but worried that it could be repossessed as collateral. can I safely transfer it to his name (woud prefer it not in my name)
