Query: If a person is to earns €60,000 per year and is to receive a €15,000 car allowance, what is the tax situation on the 15k? Is it taxable at the usual PAYE rate i.e. 42% or is it less because of the fact that it is for the purpose of running a car which is used for work. Can any money claimed back subsequently from the revenue?
