Can I Claim Vat Back on Van?

Recently I was made Reduntant,and decided to go out on my own as a sole trader.I purchased a van out of my reduncancy payment in July,with intentions to going on my own.With all the dealings with social welfare tax clearance certs etc,I have only officialy started on August 1st can I claim the Vat back as I could do with the money in order to pay the PSA Licence of €2200.

Are you registered for VAT, you will need to be in order to reclaim any VAT. You didnt mention it above? What is a PSA licence? What will you be doing with the Van?
