A Dutch bank, called Bunq.com, has entered the Irish, and EU wide, current account market via an app based service.

Some interesting features:
- 10 IBAN's linked to your current account.
- Direct Debit requiring approval each time (instead of automatic approval).
- Supports the . (This standard enables online payments direct from your current account and not via a card, not widely accepted standard, outside of the Netherlands yet).
- Allows group current accounts.
- Supports payments to mobile phone numbers.
- Allows electronic payment requests (i.e no need for an invoice).
- Account can be opened without requesting a debit card.
- Proof of EU residency, rather than proof of Irish residence required.

Costs:
- SEPA sending and receiving is free.
- No maintenance charges.
- 9.00 EUR per card which is charged once every 4 years.
- 0.04 EUR per card payment inside the Eurozone.
- 0.04 EUR + 1.2% of the transaction amount for card payments outside the Eurozone.
- 0.80 EUR per cash withdrawal.

- Not the best deal on the market (EBS now offer a free current account with a free debit card with no fees and no conditions attached) but might be of interest to some.

Why would you want multiple IBANs? DD approve thing is interesting, would be good for dealing with various companies

You could have one account for Mortgage, shopping, entertainment, direct debits etc. Personally this wouldn't appeal to me.
