best way to draw down a uk private pension

I am in the process of drawing down a uk private pension. It's defined benefit so they will issue tax free lump sum and monthly payment to my Irish bank account via citibank worldlink. I just found out that boi allows irish residents to open sterling accounts in the North for uk payments like pension etc.. Would I be better of doing that rather then citibank converting to euro and then depositing it in my account?
