Benefits for a monther with children.

Hello,
I would like to ask you what benefits can my Sister get if she is a single mother with two young children(9 and 3yrs).
Until now she was living with her husband but they are separated and he left to Australia. She stayed alone with her community employment benefits and that's it. I would like to know what help can she apply for??
Where to go to apply?
We were in Social Welfare yesterday but we didn't get any info, the lady told us that we have to go to citizensinformation but the last time I was there I didn't received any useful information that's why I decide to write to you lads.

Ring the Citizens Information helpline. Most of the offices are mainly staffed by volunteers, most of whom are very knowledgeable but not obviously in every area, you may have got someone where Social Welfare was not their area of expertise. The helpline on the other hand are paid full time staff and expert on pretty much everything.
