Interesting case reported on the RTE news just now. Very few details.
A woman had to vacate the family home due to domestic violence.
She has no income, so could not afford a PIA.
She applied for bankruptcy herself and was granted it.
The Official Assignee will presumably wash his hands of the house and mortgage.
They said she was "unnamed". I assumed that bankrupts would have to apply in person.
