Health Insurance Any group schemes to join

Hi All
I am starting with a new employer and I will have to pay my own health insurance. I am wondering is there any group schemes I can join as my new employer doesn’t have a group scheme. I am wondering will I get much of a discount from being part of a group scheme. I will more than likely join a Laya or vhi policy. Also any recommendations on a good policy for €1200 approximately. I am currently thinking of joining the inspire policy with Laya.

There are no real group schemes unless directed through your employer.
You can join a scheme called corporate for example... any policy listed by laya or vhi is open to everyone.
Some employers pay for medical insurance for staff and they can get bulk discounts but then likely you will have no choice in provider or plan.

Laya inspire has good outpatient benefits but has shortfall on orthopaedic eg hip operations. This may not be an issue for you if you are working age.

Some laya plans are going up in price from june. Check the HIA site news section for announcements.
