Hi there, I really need to get some advice about an employment law issue. Could anyone recommend someone please in the Dublin/ greater Dublin area. Thank you.
Is this recommended person regulated? My husband used Craig @ HR SOS http://www.hr-sos.ie/ a number of years ago and we found him very good and knowledgeable. He is not a solicitor but a HR specialist so has a good handle on the legislation. I would really recommend him.
Someone I know and trust wasn't very impressed with him. But he still may be worth a try.search for Terry Gorry on youtube. He specialises in Employment Law & has even written a couple of books on the topic.

Thanks - I had seen Terry's videos but he seemed to cover quite a range of areas from his website and I'd prefer somebody very employment focused.
Does anyone have any names? Seems to be mission impossible to find somebody good who doesn't just deal with the employer side
I know your inclination is to consult a solicitor in the first instance but they can be wildly expensive. Be particularly cautious if it’s suggested that your case requires counsel opinion. That doesn’t come cheap. Thanks - I had seen Terry's videos but he seemed to cover quite a range of areas from his website and I'd prefer somebody very employment focused.

I'm not sure how wise it is for anyone to outline the details of a particular employment law situation on a public forum, in particular if the matter is already sufficiently serious to have motivated them in the first instance to seek legal advice.I know your inclination is to consult a solicitor in the first instance but they can be wildly expensive. If you were give an outline of the issue you’re facing, you might get some useful advice on these pages.
With the greatest respect to the late Richard, he wasn’t the only decent employment law practitioner any more than Dermot Bannon is the only architect in Ireland. So much for Richard Grogan's firm still being worth a punt, SOR taking over the client base it seems. Thanks for saving me wasted effort gipimann
I don’t necessarily agree. It’s not dissimilar to asking for financial advice.I'm not sure how wise it is for anyone to outline the details of a particular employment law situation on a public forum, in particular if the matter is already sufficiently serious to have motivated them in the first instance to seek legal advice.
The only thing more expensive than professional advice is often the lack of it.
