Health Insurance Alternative to Laya Essential Family Connect for parents

Hi,

Parents are approaching 80 and currently on Laya Essential Family Connect. Both are in good health with no pre existing conditions. Current premium is coming in at around 1600.
Is there better value to be had with roughly the same lever of cover?

Both Simply Connect Plus{€1470} and Connect Simplicity(€1463) are worthy of serious consideration as alternatives to Essential Family Connect(€1583}. These plans are also offered by LAYA

The family excess, on everyday medical expenses, with Essential Connect Family is €250 which means that you must have expenses of €500 before you can claim anything back. The family excess, on everyday medical expenses, with both the other plans is €1

There are savings of up to €740, when you factor in the family excess, to be made by your parents with roughly the same cover, if not better, by changing to either of the above plans.

Riomhaire has suggested 2 very good plans but Connect Simplicity is actually better as you still have cover for a private room in a private hospital. With Simply Connect Plus there is a 165E per night shortfall and 150E excess. You can compare your current plan with these plans in the members area when you login to Laya or on the HIA website. Your parents will have better hospital cover with this policy so there will be a waiting period should they require hospitalisation . But they will still have cover at the level of their current plan - Essential Family Connect should you decide to switch to Connect Simplicity.
