Now that the government have done away with the transition pension from age 65 to 66 what happens someone from the public service? their retirement age is set at 65 and they would normally receive their pension from the employer and tehn would have been topped up with the transition payment until the pension. The rules seem to say that if you do not qualify for social welfare through no fault of your own you may get a supplmentary pension. However what happens if you leave at 65 and do not wish to apply for jobseekers? Also what happens if you get jobseekers for 9 motnhs and then can't get the meanstested allowance?

It strikes me as being unfair that someone who is obliged to retire cannot get their full pension entitlements. If the person was paying the D stamp they would have their full pension.
