There was no threshold for people under 65 from 2008 onwards.
The effective threshold is the point where your tax credits would have been fully used up; what this point is will vary from person to person depending on their circumstances / entitlements.
For a single person under 65 working in a PAYE employment, they would have at least a personal credit of €1,830 and a PAYE credit of up to €1,830. This is €3,660.
In thats scenario no tax would be payable if income was below €18,300.
However, PRSI would be payable in any week where the weekly earnings were above €352.
