    Was I taxed too much?

Further to this sort of query, does anyone know where ou should put dividend income from UK investments? I put this into my income page recently on the PAYE online site and the resulting pay cheque was savaged, the dividends hugely reduced my tax credits. Any thoughts?

Leaking overflow in sealed central heating system

Just noticed a very steady drip this morning from the overflow pipe, located in the fascia, connecting to the water tank in the attic. No noise from the ballcock in the tank or other visible 'activity'. Haven't seen this before, its a 3 year old system. Any thoughts ??

Key Post Capital Gains Tax on sale of shares

As always Brendan, a very helpful guide. Can I ask further - what is the position in relation to disposal of investments held in investment/unit funds? Also, do I have a tax liability each year, within that year or shortly thereafter, for returns which these funds may generate? Essentially, I...

Key Post What to do with a pension fund from a previous employment

Many thanks again Liam, very clear It seems a no-brainer that I should stay in the pension fund till aged 60, then transfer to an ARF assuming I meet the guaranteed income requirement, which all being well I should. Then, draw down from that ARF each year to minimise the tax hit. Two...

Key Post What to do with a pension fund from a previous employment

Many thanks Liam The bits I don't understand are as follows - (incidentally, I DO meet the minimum income requirement, but I am fairly certain I will stay in the pension fund rather than purchase an ARF for now - the fund charges and levies are harmless enough) * this business about an...

Key Post What to do with a pension fund from a previous employment

Liam I have just left a 30 year employment and still hold a DC sum invested in 2 funds. Is there any point in moving this to an ARF or is it simply the same thing? The performance of the fund is ok and as the employer is a large employer, the charges on the existing scheme are only 0.25. Is...

Investec Kick-Out Account I have received information advertising this investment product. Can anyone advise on the details of this? I am unsure how the Kick-Out mechanism works and whether it is a wise option or not.
