Which is the best deal 01 mondeo with 58000 miles on the clock for 8950 euro or 02 mondeo with 94000 miles for 8800 euro. They are both 1.8 lx models in similar all round condition
 
I'd take the identical car with the lower miles any day. In this case 36000 mile difference is huge as well. That's like an extra 3 years motoring/wear and tear on avaerage miles.
The 01- average miles (approx 9000 per year)
02- Nearly 20,000 per year done.
One could argue that the 02 if it has a FSH, might have already had its fan belt changed....but still given that its done the extra miles, anything else might go wrong.
Once the car goes over 100k, the resale value takes a huge hit too.
 
The 01 looks a better bet. Check carefulkly for clocking. HPI/Cartell.

The Zetec version is a lot better in engine and equipment btw. A btter buiy imho.

p.s. Assuming it's a saloon and June 01 the Revenue would value the car at €7600 for VRT purposes.
 
I would shop around more you will get a better deal. If you have not looked at other similar cars, i would suggest you do so.
 
i have looked at a number of similar cars and they were all around same price i realise i could get a better deal in dublin or cork but id prefer to buy local
