Have a look at the number of Yarises (?) of varying ages on the roads and I think your question answers itself. Toyota also supplied that engine in various capacities to other manufacturers e.g. Daihatsu

P PatMacG Key Post author Messages 104 21 May 2014 #4 It seems like the 3 cylinder engine, the 1KR-FE i3, was only the 1.0 litre engine and any capacity in excess of that was a 4 cylinder, that's the Yaris from 1998 to date including engines supplied to other car manufacturers.
