Hi all,
Could someone please be able to point me in the right direction here.
I recently bought a VW Passat in the UK however there is a mistake on the reg cert. its is classed as a 2500cc when it is only a 1900cc. The problem i have is i can't pay the vrt on it until its corrected I have contacted the dealership where it was bought new and they confirm it as 1900cc but as they have no contract with me won't give me anything in writting saying this. So i sent the cert back to the dvla with a letter explaining this (no written proof) 5 weeks ago and i have not got anything back yet.I have tried ringing them this week as they say on their website it can take 4 weeks to get your cert back but today they are on strike action.
Anyhow i was looking at their website and they state that an inspection report for insurance purposes will suffice as written evidence.
This could sort out the problem because our guys here in the vrt offices said the same, if they see proof that it was a 1900cc they will register it as one.
My question is where can i get this done and with whom.
Thanks
