Hi Guys,

My house is in the process of being built and I met with the builder there during the week. he advised not to put any wood flooring down until 6 months after ye have moved in.
He says he sees it all the time when people spends a fortune and the wood warps due to the moisture in the house.

Does this sound like good advice? I kinda wanted to have wood flooring in the hall, sitting and dining room before I move in?

Thanks

It may not take 6 months but if you are glueing wooden floors directly onto concrete, the concrete has to be bone dry or the wood will warp. A moisture reader device will show how much moisture is in the concrete.

Hi, read and heard lots about this and it sounds like very good advice. Go into the big wood floor stores and they'll tell you exactly what to do -and take Micky's advice and hire a moisture meter..
