Wood burning stove installation

Hello,

We intend installing a wood-burning stove, (for heating purposes only), into our sitting room, we have a designated fireplace, (made extra high), for it to sit into. Now, this fireplace was never plastered, I was wondering if I need some special "noncombustible" plaster to do so and also do I need to install a special flue-liner in the chimney flue for the stove.

Any info appreciated.

I think regular plaster should do it,I have never heard of any problems associated with it. Make sure it has plenty of time to dry out before exposing it to heat. You could probably even tile it!.
You will need a flu to go between the stove and your chimney, maybe 18" long and 8" in diameter, depending on hole size and height.
Shove the flu from the stove up the chimney a little bit and seal around the gap with fire cement or fire chord/ rope.

I thought there might be a special flue-liner for tar-deposits or such like but I suppose I could still install it in future.
