Is this your home wireless network ?
What version of windows are you using ?

Try the following:-
Start Run
type cmd

type ipconfig then hit return

are you getting an ip adress,

type ping 216.239.59.147 then hit return

what result ?

type ping www.google.ie then hit return
what result

Wexfordman tried as you sugested answers below

okay, try the ipconfig command again, and you should get 3 lines

ip adress (the ip adress of your pc)
subnet mask (more like 255.255.255.0)
default gatway (something like 192.168.1.1)

Let us know what you get, then do the following

ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx being the ip adress you got for the gateway above)

then do
ping 66.102.9.99

if that works, then do
then do ping www.google.ie

If you can ping your gateway, it means everthing is working to your router
if you can ping the 66.102.9.99 it means you are getting internet access
if you can ping www.google.ie, it means everything should work
If you can ping everyting except www.google.ie it means your DNS server setting or your DNS server in your router is incorrect.

Let us know what you get (if you are near a working net connection, try this on another pc just so you are familiar with what you should see).

Breathnach,
Can you connect wired through your router, and when you do the above, what happens ?

Can you confirm also, is the network you are connecting to your home network
Also, post the results you are getting from the ipconfig command when connected wirelessley, and also when connected wired.
