Windows Vista + HP Printer

My OH bought a new laptop and got a HP printer as part of the package from PC World. Laptop has Vista instead of XP. Whadda Pain!

The Printer will not install. When I asked guy in PC word for assistance he told me to visit the HP website. Still can't install the printer!
 
Welcome to the future - it's broken.

I am also learning the issues with Vista drivers. My USB wireless card doesn't have Vista drivers and it was looking like I was going to have to get a new one, but I installed the XP ones and it started working. I still get some annoying flashes and warnings every time the machine starts up but the key thing is that I can pass traffic over the wireless link.

Try the XP drivers and see if that helps.

Whats the exact model of the printer. You probably just need to get the right Vista Drivers for it. Poor customer service that PC World didn't do this for you.
 
Will have to wait until I get home to get the model number.

As for PC World. All they want to do is sell sell sell. Imagine I had to go back to the shop for advise. No helpline. And even then they didn't want to know 'cos I wasn't buying anything.
