Windows Update - Service Pack 3

Need some help.

Clicked on Tools - Windows Update - went through all the stages - ( install update ) Install Service pack 3 etc .

Now it is left half done and appears to be frozen

I have 2 windows with the following messages :

1. Initializing installation... done!
   Installing Windows XP Service Pack 3 (KB936929) (update 1 of 1)...
2. Please wait while windows checks your current configuration.

Finishing installation - Details : Running process after install.


Thats it ............been like this since 1pm today .

Does anyone know what is the problem .?

This can be caused by your anti-virus software, malware, conflicting hardware drivers or a variety of other apps that SP3 doesn't like see the microsoft guide on troubleshooting SP3 install issues:
