Hi,
I am on the point of building a new house in a windswept location and am concerned that a timber frame will be noiser more unstable than traditional build.
Any thoughts?

You mean a timber house more so than a timber frame?? A timber frame will have a block or brick cladding outside it so why would it be noiser than a full block build!

no,I mean timber frame for 2 reasons.
1/I am concenned that it will not be as solid as a double skin of blocks on edge.
2/that the vents allowing air to circulate in the cavity will cause whistling.
thanks

Pudser,
Will be a different opinion on TF V block but if your TF is supplied and erected by a reputable company using quality materials then the life should be no less than a block house. Of course the house has to be sealed correctly around the windows/doors etc.

Well yesterday tested ours for wind noise as regards the vents and we had no issues with sound!!!
