Will Ulster Bank do a deal on a mortgage in long term arrears?

Banks were reluctant to do deals for customers in arrears in case it created an incentive for other customers to go into arrears.

Ulster Bank won't face this constraint as they will have sold off their performing loans and most of the performing loans are in positive equity anyway.

Ulster Bank will face difficulty in selling the non performing loans. And they are tied up trying to negotiate the easier sale of the performing businesses.

They might be open to doing a deal on non performing loans.

So if you are happy to sell your home, you should talk to your account manager in Ulster Bank.

Or if you have family money which could buy the house or lend you the money, again, you should talk to Ulster Bank.
