My girlfriend moved in recently to my house, which I bought on my own 5 years ago. We are buying TOGETHER another property which we are going to rent out for a year, before we move in to it. We are considering doing it this way because we cant afford to decorate/extend it for at least a year, so we may as well live in the existing decorated house for that year. I have 2 years left out of the 7 as a first time buyer in terms of Tax Releif at Source, however will my girlfriend who will be on the deeds/mortgage of the new property (rented for one year) be able to claim any T.R.S?
