Hi
I am currently working and thankfully have not been made redundant as yet. However my industry is supplying directly into the construction sector and we are likely to suffer more. I am concerned as everyone is about job security.
a the minute I am thinking about setting up a very small Limited company, but I am concerned that if I do this and subsequently lose my current job, that I would receive no social welfare payment. Would this be correct?
The business I want to set up is a long term thing even if the economy is booming it will take me a number of years to build it to anything worthwhile. I was thinking that if I dont draw any salary from the business would this mean I would still be entitled to Dole? (there is unlikely to be any profit to pay a salary for the first while anyway!)
Any advice or pointers would be much appreciated!
