We don't normally enter into discussion on editorial decisions.
Thread titles are frequently edited to make them more specific and meaningful and occasionally to correct the spellings. Very occasionally, a title is edited to remove something offensive.
As I don't know what the original title was, I don't know why it was changed.

Hi Noah,
I changed the title of the thread concerning housing estates and signage. Its quite a good thread and we like the titles to reflect the content. This can be very useful when you need to search for a thread which is a few years old.
Why can't one of the wealthiest countries in the world put up a few signs?
was changed to: No visible signage / house numbering in housing estates?
