It's good they have the adds on ... I slept through the rural electrification and didn't know it was available...
I will send them a telegram first thing tomorrow...
Some class of relation of mine works there and reckons the 80K pa figure quoted understates the reality.
OP - Have you considered giving the head office a call and trying to talk to whoever is responsible?

There are other providers out there, airtricity for one that can supply you. So the ESB might be trying to win back airtricity's customers?

Are you one of the unlucky who pay their wages (an ESB customer)?while I'm not one of the lucky on the €80K average, wouldn't mind being one!!!
I've never had problems with their Customer service tbh have have few problems with their service either, and while I'm not one of the lucky on the €80K average, wouldn't mind being one!!!
I'm not sure why you'd expect me to solve your problem for you. But I guess your response gives a pretty clear indication how strongly you feel about the issue. No, feel free to do so and let us know how you get on.
Cold-calling any large organisation is difficult, and it might well be difficult to find the right person. But I'd bet a fiver that if you can navigate through a few layers to get to the right person, you could have a useful and enlightening discussion, if that's what the OP really wants of course. What chance do you think there is of them taking the call?
Remember this from the 1980's?
ESB Networks eye-catching new media campaign airs today for first time
Volcanoes, avalanches, and tornadoes are the eye catching images in a major new advertising campaign promoting electrical safety which will be launched tonight (Wednesday 3 July) by ESB Networks on television.
The campaign uses as its theme the idea that electricity, as one of the great forces of nature, should be treated with respect and care.
The campaign has been developed by ESB Networks and ESB's creative advertising agency, McConnells in order to enhance the awareness of safety near overhead lines and underground cables. It will also serve to increase awareness of safe practices in the home and on the farm.
ESB Networks is the organisation which puts in place the lines, transformers and other infrastructure for Ireland’s power system. Safety is paramount for ESB Networks and it feels that this advertising campaign will play a vital role in creating awareness and understanding of the need for care when dealing with electricity.
The campaign will be backed up by extensive advertising in the National and Regional Newspapers and in Trade publications.
"The newly-developed campaign adopts a novel and arresting visual treatment which, we feel, staff and customers will find interesting and effective. It uses some spectacular images from nature to draw attention to the danger of making contact with overhead lines or buried cables," said ESB Networks safety specialist Michael Hanly.
There are three principal target groups to whom the campaign is addressed:-
The campaign starts on TV tonight (Wednesday July 3) and will also be shown on Sunday night and the National/ Regional and Trade press campaign will follow in mid July. The TV advertisements will continue on July 14, 18 and 28.
- The Construction Industry
- The Farming Sector
- People involved in sport/leisure pursuits
Complainer, I never asked for a resolution, or indeed for you, personally, to resolve, merely a question I posted - see the title of my op, it does have a questionmark at the end of the title, does it not? As for how strong I feel about the "issue" as you put it, I merely looked for other posters opinions on my thoughts, hardly a crime, and certainly not against the posting guidelines?I'm not sure why you'd expect me to solve your problem for you. I get it now. You don't actually want to know the answer to your question - you just want to jump on the anti-public-sector bandwagon - right?Complainer, I never asked for a resolution, or indeed for you, personally, to resolve, merely a question I posted - see the title of my op, it does have a questionmark at the end of the title, does it not?
