Why can't I view stored UK shows via internet?

Why can't I view UK shows I've missed via the internet (like the catch-up versions stored on their TV channel sites)? It just says 'You must live in the UK to watch this show'.

You answered your own question. A better question to ask might be how do I view UK shows despite not living in the UK.
