Where an executor of an estate asks a solicitor to help with the administration of the estate who is the solicitor working for. Is it the executor, the estate, the beneficiaries? At the end of the day the solicitor's fee will be paid for by the estate or in other words by the beneficiaries who would have inherited the money that was paid to the solicitor if no solicitor was involved.

The solicitor's client is the executor. However they have some duties or obligations to the residuary beneficiaries, eg giving them a copy of the estimate and estate account etc.

Thanks Vanilla. Is there anywhere that I can find out exactly what these obligations/duties are to the beneficiaries?

What is the problem?

Is it a dispute between the executor and some , or all, the beneficiaries?

Objectively, is the executor doing their job? Is it the case that s/he is, but that the beneficiaries have different ideas?
