When solicitor requires a bank draft for stamp duty fees on the purchase of a home, who is the bank draft made payable to? Is it the solicitor?

Thanks.

Never been asked for that and I have purchased twice....very strange...normally stamp duty fees are paid over automatically by the solicitor on your behalf on completion of sale.

it can either be made payable to the Revenue Commissioners or to the Solicitors office. They will lodge it to their account and send a cheque to the Revenue Commissioners. Doesnt make any difference either way, ask you solicitor what way they require it.
