Who is responsible for maintaining land until probate is granted

Hi, my wife's late mother left her 2 acres of land in her Will. The land has some road frontage and there are trees, which are dangerous and need to be cut down. My wife's 2 brothers are executors and probate has not been applied for or granted yet. My question is: who is responsible for cutting and paying for the trees to be cut down? my wife or the executors?

I don't believe there's any law saying they have to be taken down before or after.
Best to get a quote for the work and if possible split between all parties though I don't think there is any obligation.

If the work is urgent, then the your mother-in-law's estate is responsible and should be handled by her executors.
