Hi All

Very simple question, but it seems that no lender is lending for debit consolidation. Here is the state of play

Have monthly outgoings of approximately 2050. Mortgage is 1150, loans and CC make up remainder. Looking for approximately 285K over thirty years, House is currently valued in the region 350-370K. My estimate is that repayments over the 30 period would be 1250/month and if pushed I could afford up to 1800/month.

Currently with UB, but the branch tells me they are not lending. BoI says won't consider debit consolidation but would welcome switcher. AIB, pretty much the same. In all cases no branch would send in my application!

What is the story?
And before you ask am in a permanent and pensionable post and can afford the repayments.

Re: Who is lending for debit consolidation

KBC will refinance short-term debt up to €40,000 but will not refinance credit card or overdrafts. Maximum new LTV 80%.

Does this help?

Thanks for the reply

Never heard of KBC, and am somewhat concerned about there rather poor website. Anyone with experience of them?

KBC Homeloans were known as IIB Homeloans until October 2008 when they rebranded. Their head office is in Sandwith Street - the old Archers Ford garage, for those of us of a certain age. They are a subsidiary of the Belgian bank KBC.

I've dealt them for many years as a broker and find them very good, but maybe others here can share experiences of dealing with them as customers.

Yup - I'm a customer, no problems, staff very nice and efficient. Bank appears to be very solid. Just watch out for the Interest Rate - they have a little tendency to be more expensive than others in the market.
