White staining on timber floor with under floor heating

We have noticed white staining on a timber floor with underfloor heating recently. The floor is about 18 months old as its a new build. Its only in a concentrated area. I wonder has this happened to anyone before and what would the possible cause be? There is ventilation in the room (kitchen) and the room is warmish but definitely not roasting. Its not the warmest room in the house and everywhere in house has timber floors but its only in this room we have noticed this staining. When we clean it with a cloth, it appears again!

Any advices would be appreciated.

Many thanks

It sounds like you have a water leak. If you can post a photo it might help to confirm this as a potential source of the staining

The only way to investigate the problem is to lift the floor. It certainly looks to me like a leak, unless you have pets doing their thing in that spot.

Just worried floorboards will have to be lifted
Before you worry about lifting boards...Have you checked the water pressure in your UFCH system? I.e. are you losing pressure?

If you are and suspect a leak, if it's minor adding a sealant into the system might fix it.

Get someone out with a thermal camera to confirm there is a leak, with the right equipment they can trace the leak to the exact spot. So you dont have to rip up the boards in the entire room and can just repair the leak and flooring in that exact spot.
