Does anyone know of any phone provider that does a package for dial-up internet, like they used to in the old days before broadband! Because it seems to me that all the phone providers think that everyone has broadband. Well not me, line not suitable according to Eircom, and don't want to pay a fortune for satellite. UTV used to do a 30 hour per month for a tenner deal but not anymore, this is the kind of thing I'm after.
thanks

What about one of the "free"/non subscription based dial-up ISPs such as listed [broken link removed] (not sure how up to date the list is and it looks like somebody hacked the page to add porno links at the end of the page...) or here? Of course you'll have to pay normal call charges to access these so maybe you're looking for a dial-up ISP with a (peak time?) discounted 1891 (?) number?

Funny thing is: it may not have been hacked at all (if you get my drift)

And misemall make sure your dial-up doesn't use a porn-dialler or you'll know all about excessive bill prices:D

I think it was - the last edit of the Wiki is by somebody who entered the porno links into one or more pages. I have notified the ILUG in case they are interested in fixing this.

UTV do a dial up package for 25 euro a month - for upto 180 hours online. They do a similar thing in Northern Ireland too.
If you transfer your phone line and calls to them - you get free evening and weekend calls all over Ireland and UK.
(I have No connection with UTV - just a happy customer)

I think the 3G modem for €19 a month is better. Its 24/7 with a 10GB cap.

You still have line rental with that UTViP offer though. You might avoid that with an eircom bundle.
