One of the cars packed in and toying with just scrapping it rather than fixing.
If we decide to get a 'new' one what would people recommend.
Want to get diesel as we do high mileage. Probably 2011/2012 car. Have about 15/16k to spent - no trade in . We will aim to use this 'new' car primarily and keep the other one we currently have that is running (9yr old) as a spare.
Want something reliable - doesn't everyone and that is not going to have expensive exclusive parts when servicing.
Thanks in advance

What do you need? Do you want space in the boot, space in the cabin, cheap running costs?
Do you have kids and if so what age are they?
Do you have pets?
Do you have hobbies?
Do you want a saloon, a hatchback, an estate, a SUV or a people mover?

You have to give posters something to work with.

Thanks Purple, I'm always thinking in my head why didn't posters include this that and the other? And here I go committing the same offence.
Cheap running costs word be great. Going to go diesel for first time.
We need good boot for golf clubs.
No pets
Two teenagers part time. They are not very tall. One prefers saloon the other hatchback so we were thinking of the skoda superb.
We will be moving from Astra/focus and wanted to go up a size if possible. Thoughts are passat, superb, i40, insignia.
Not estate, jeep or people carrier. Very much a car.
