I will be made redundant next year. I dont think I will get another job in my line of work so I am planning to retrain as a secretary(jobs in my area/locality).
Can anyone recommend short courses ie one day computing courses for powerpoint or anything else that I may need.
You will need ecdl or microsoft office specialist, manual and computerised accounts, maybe sage accounts, decent typing speed and often these days a second language. Secretarial jobs are mighty scarce and in some cases becoming the domain of the degree holder.
There may be Pitman courses available in your area - courses offered include all of the Microsoft Office products, as well as specific courses for medical & legal secretaries.
