Where to get a Sony CamCorder fixed? Battery won't charge!

Hi, I have a sony minidv camcorder and the battery has stopped charging. The camcorder works when it's plugged in, the battery just won't charge. I bought a new battery off ebay, but this won't charge either (doh!) so it seems that there is some problem with the connection between the camera and the battery or something. I know if I go to the Sony repair centre they'll probably charge me ¢200 to fix it, anybody got any suggestions?
 
Have you tried cleaning the contacts? There is nothing shorting them out?

You can buy separate battery chargers - try . For example, this site sells them [broken link removed].
 
There's a Sony repair centre in Tallaght,even out of warranty,and give a guarentee on thier work.I don't have a number but I think I got it of the shop I bought it in as they return their Sony broken product there as well.
