Where the best Foreign Ex for large lump sum?

Hi,

I have been given a large cheque in Australian dollars to repay part of my mortgage. I have been quoted 1.5305 to sell by Ulster Bank. Can I do better?

Assuming the cheque can be cleared without additional handling fees, perhaps try a couple of the commercial banks, many have treasury departments and will quote for larger deals .... try the likes of Anglo, IIB & Bank of Scotland for a start perhaps :)
 
When I have shopped around for large amounts into and out of sterling, Anglo was considerably cheaper than AIB or Bank of Ireland.
