I want to buy an impact wrench (one that's operated via the cigarette lighter so when I have a puncture I can remove the wheel nuts. Argos used to sell them but no more..would anyone know were I could get one of these in Dublin?

Thanks

What's wrong with the standard wheel brace?

An impact wrench (you hit it with a hammer to start a nut to turn) isn't necessary and chances are you'll hit something withn the hammer.

If you are physically unable to remove wheel nuts with a standard brace, you can buy an extension piece which will give you much greater leverage.

Another option would be to carry a tin of tyre weld.

Maybe the nuts are on too tight in the first place? Isn't there some rule of thumb about how tight they should be. (I wish somebody else was posting this so I could respond with a smart comment).

I had actually had to call out the AA to help me release the "nuts" after the car was in for wheel change / tracking. I am going to purchase an extended wheel brace soon.
