Hi all

We have recently purchased solid wooden floors for a new build. The floors will be going down on concrete and we want to measure the moisture content of the floors before we go ahead with putting down the solid wood flooring. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to get a meter for measuring the moisture content?

Thanks...

I was cheeky, I got a flooring contractor out to give me an estimate and he used his meter to check the moisture content, he said the floor was dry enough, I got his quote and did the job myself, Saving €1200 in the process, I know it was a bit mean but their prices are mad.

Thanks for all your comments. Think I have managed to track one down to hire out for a day.

Cheers..

just a late tip,if you tape a clear polyethene sheet 1 meter square in the centre of the floor, and leave it overnight, you can check next morning whether it has some moisture inside the clear sheet.if there is no moisture then the floor should be dry enough for flooring.
